Some Important Teachings Of The Quran

Islam is a way of life and hence Allah has provided information regarding all important aspects of life in the Quran. Islam provides teachings on forgiveness, mercy, piousness, grace etc. Allah says in the Quran regarding forgiveness,

'Those who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds, and, when they are angry even then forgive;' (Qur'an 42:37).

Forgiveness has received great attention in Islam. It is considered a superior deed and all Muslims are encouraged to forgive others no matter how difficult.

Islam also appreciates good deeds and piousness. In Islam, a good deed always outweighs a bad one. One good deed cancels ten bad deeds. Allah says in the Holy Quran,

'He that doeth good shall have ten times as much to his credit: He that doeth evil shall only be recompensed according to his evil...' (Qur'an 6:160)

Allah also approves of those who do good deeds and does not appreciate those who do bad deeds. On the Day of Judgment, it is the good deeds that will help you reach paradise. Islam also encourages all Muslims to be merciful in their daily activities. Being merciful is important because it is one of the qualities of Allah. Allah is the most merciful and the most benevolent. However, Islam also differentiates between mercy and love.

Allah is also graceful. This means that He blesses humans with unmerited favors. However, even if you forgive, there is no assurance that all the sins of the individual are forgiven. This does not mean that you should not seek His forgiveness. By doing so, you might be forgiven for your sins.
