Androgen Deficiency In Men

Men usually suffer from androgen deficiency that means male hormones reaches below normal levels. This problem can be caused due to testicles problem, pituitary gland or hypothalamus. This deficiency and Low T cause many problems and requires proper treatment. Testosterone replacement therapy is used for its treatment. Androgen deficiency is also called male menopause.

Symptoms of androgen deficiency:

  1. Androgen deficiency leads to problems as under.
  2. Reduced sexual desire
  3. Hot flushes and sweating
  4. Breast development
  5. Lethargy and fatigue
  6. Depression
  7. Reduced muscle mass and strength
  8. Increased body fat, particularly around the abdomen
  9. Weaker erections and orgasms
  10. Reduced amount of ejaculate
  11. Loss of body hair

Hormones are chemical messengers that communicate with tissues to bring different changes in the body. Androgens are male sex hormones that give male characteristics.  These are important hormones for sexual and reproductive function. These are also responsible for the development of male characteristics such as beard and body hair growth, bone and muscle development.
Testosterone is the main sex hormone that pituitary gland controls. This gland regulates the testes via two hormones namely luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone. These hormones are also known as gonadotrophins.  
Androgen deficiency means lower than normal hormone levels including human growth hormone and testosterone that causes many problems in the body. Androgen deficiency is also known as male menopause that affect Bone and muscle development, Growth of body hairs, Sexual drive, Prostate gland growth and function, and Sperm production.
