Relation Of Muslims With Non-Muslims

Holy Quran has told about some rules regarding relationship with Muslims and non-Muslims, it is told that the non-Muslims do not fight other Muslims on their religion nor they expel these Muslims from their homeland. Quran Education is necessary it has mentioned the rules that are associated with Muslims and non-Muslims. It is said in Quran:

Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity.” (Al-Mumtahinah 60:8)



This verse was revealed when there was a truce between Quraish of Mecca and Muslims. There are various narrations from Asma, who was the daughter of Abu Bakr and whose mother came for visit in Medina and this explains the reason for revealing a particular verse. Ibn Jarir at Tabari is another classical commentator who explained in exegesis that there were many opinions regarding this particular verse and these are mentioned amongst all of them:

· The above mentioned verse was about Muslims who were residing in Mecca but they have not emigrated yet.

· This verse relates to people who are living outside Mecca and they have not yet emigrated to Medina.

· This verse was regarding pagans of Mecca who did not fight Muslims nor they expel them from homes.

At-Tabari explains the right point of view:

The most correct meaning of these statements is defined as follows:

"Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion?"
